Vineyards and roses…
The most beautiful combination I’ve ever seen..
A secret rose garden in Sonoma,
A dream come true for a flower lover & photographer.
Vineyards and roses… one of the most beautiful combinations I have ever seen… how is it that I have not discovered it until now? This combination is especially amazing at the beautiful Cline Cellars vineyard in Sonoma, where I was stunned by the rows of vibrant roses surrounding the vineyards in May. A hidden treasure of a rose garden that I discovered quite by accident!
This rose garden within a vineyard is one of my favorite photo shoot locations ever, next to the ruins of the Jumièges Abbey in France… and I was also so honored that one of my pictures was featured on Ann Taylor’s Instagram page!

Why Vineyards and Roses?
In wine regions around the world, roses are frequently planted at the perimeter of vineyards for both practical and aesthetic purposes. Roses typically require the same type of soil and sun requirements as grapevines, so early detection of disease or stress on the roses will alert farmers and winemakers to protect vines from damage. And in addition to adding beauty to the landscape, roses also provide food for bees!

About Cline Cellars
Cline Cellars is a family-owned and operated winery located in the beautiful Sonoma Valley, less than an hour drive north of San Francisco. The grounds of the winery are spacious, elegant and relaxed, similar to a refined country estate. The sprawling gardens here are an incredibly pleasant place to spend an afternoon. It’s a dream vineyard to visit for a flower and photography lover like myself!
With grounds as beautiful as this, it’s no surprise that it’s also a popular place for weddings! Ken and I spent quite a bit of time here admiring the vineyards and gardens and also wine tasting. Another wonderful thing about Cline Cellars is that they’re committed to sustainable farming.
If you have time, I also highly recommend visiting Jacuzzi Family Vineyards and Viansa Winery across the street. Both are also quite beautiful and have stunning views.
